A Warm Welcome to Loxwood Pre-School
Established in 1980, Loxwood Pre-School is a committee run pre-school for children aged two to five years. It is run by an enthusiastic local team from the community and is part of the fabric of the village.
Our Pre-School is small with a maximum of seventeen children in each session and lies in the heart of the community in an idyllic location – away from busy roads and with views and use of Loxwood School’s natural garden, school playing field and woodlands area.
We pride ourselves upon providing a caring, sharing and healthy environment. It is a superb place for children to grow and learn where all 5 outcomes of “Every Child Matters” are central to our settings conduct: being healthy, staying safe, enjoying and achieving, making positive contributions, economic well-being.
Our Aims at Loxwood Pre-School are:
- To learn through play, choice and independence.
- To feel safe, happy and nurtured.
- To follow the EYFS.
- To work together as part of a community.
- To be independent, kind learners who are ready for transition to school.
- For all staff to know the children well and plan personalized next steps that are inclusive.
If you are considering our lovely Pre-School for your child, we would be so pleased to show you around and have an informal chat with either our Manager Pippa or our Deputy Lauren. You are very welcome to bring your child with you for a tour, we’d love to meet them too!

We were inspected by Ofsted in September 2024 and were delighted to
receive Good in all areas. Ofsted noted:
“Staff warmly greet children into this nurturing and caring pre-school.
They place a strong focus on children's personal, social and emotional
development from the start. Staff build strong and trusting
relationships with children, offering them lots of cuddles and
reassurance. This helps children to feel safe and secure. Children smile
as they see familiar faces. They delight in playing games with their
friends, showing a sense of belonging.”
